We’ve just dropped a stunning new collection of bodystockings, so we thought now would be the perfect time to answer a question we hear frequently: “I love the look of them, but how do I wear them?”
It’s true that bodystockings are one of the more daring pieces of lingerie out there. Despite their ‘covered up’ shape, their second-skin fit and typically-sheer fabric makes them ultra figure-flaunting. Which is exactly what makes them so sexy!
There are tons of ways to style a bodystocking however, and they aren’t just bedroom attire! Here are some styling ideas for inspiration...
Styling Bodystockings: In the Boudoir
Want to wear a bodystocking for your partner’s eyes only? Go as seductive as you dare - think sheer lace or fishnet, cupless or crotchless styles, and garter bodystockings that are designed to look like a basque and stockings. But if you’re feeling shy, yes, you absolutely can layer a bodystocking over a bra set!
Tip: make it a sexy surprise by putting a dress on top so they think it’s just a new pair of pantyhose, until you reveal the full look.
Styling Bodystockings: For Pole Class
Bodystockings are so good as pole wear. Not only do they look the part, but their curve-hugging fit means there’s nothing getting in the way of practicing your moves. Most people prefer an opaque style for this, but fishnet also has an athletic edge. Again, there’s also nothing stopping you from layering a revealing piece over or under your other polewear.
In fact, thinking about it, bodystockings would be perfect for yoga or pilates too...
Styling Bodystockings: In the Club
Take it from the people who style celebrities for their stage performances: when you want to look incredible but also be able to dance like you’re wearing your favorite leggings, the answer is figure-flaunting, flexible catsuits! To get more of an outerwear ‘catsuit’ look from a lingerie bodystocking, look for one with sleeves and layer it over an opaque bodysuit.
Bonus points if it’s covered in shimmering diamantés that scream ‘party glam’!
Styling Bodystockings: Out and About
Yes, bodystockings even work as casual wear! As we’ve already mentioned, once you’ve thrown actual clothes over them, they don’t look any different to chic pantyhose or leggings. If you want to make the most of your bodystocking and really show it off, wear a crop top to let your lace, mesh or fishnet-covered midriff show.
Or, skip the top altogether and simply add a bra, denim skirt and blazer and you’re good to go.
