Pioneer This Halloween

From old west stories to spaghetti westerns, cowboys and indians are in the fabric of our culture. Like the people who lived here over a hundred years ago, we live for the betterment of our lives. The entrepreneurial spirit goes on in our culture to this day.

When people talk about the growth of a nation they talk about all the people that came before the present generation. The people who were originally here and those who took the journey and settled here. Every story that has been carried down from generation to generation is that of bravery, battle, and heritage. Whether you were a native to this land or a settler planting new roots, North America is what you called home.

Some remnants of the old west remain and it permeates into our culture today. It may not look as rugged or be as brazen but we are creating new lives in the west. We honor our forefathers, in the memories of our ancestors. Whether it be the tales of your tribe or the diaries of your great great grandfather, the old west lives on in each of us.

To truly appreciate what came before, make this Halloween a celebration of the founders of this great nation. The people who paved the way for us today weren't always pretty, they weren't always nice, but they sure were larger than life. And this Halloween you can embody what it is to be an American, True Grit and all.
